Types of Therapy We Offer:
-
Holistic Therapy
Holistic therapy is an integrative approach to therapy that combines traditional evidence-based therapy modalities with complementary and alternative healing modalities. A holistic approach to mental health helps you heal by honoring and including the mind, body, heart and spirit on your healing journey.
-
Depth Therapy
Depth Therapy involves exploring the unconscious mind in order to uncover unresolved issues, encouraging healing and personal development. Depth therapy can help you process deeply stored emotions and experiences in order to integrate your past, rather than being ruled by it.
-
Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS)
Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is a unique approach that views the mind as composed of various parts, each with its own characteristics and roles. In IFS therapy, you’ll learn to identify and understand these parts of yourself, resulting in more peace, balance, and ultimately deep healing.
-
Somatic Therapy
Somatic Therapy is a body-based therapeutic modality that offers practical tools that work with the mind-body system to address a variety of mental health concerns, chronic nervous system dysregulation and the feeling of being stuck in survival mode. We include the body and the nervous system in therapy in order to heal thoughts, emotions, memories and trauma that live in the body.
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) provides practical tools and strategies to help you change your negative thought patterns and maladaptive behaviors, ultimately leading to improved emotional well-being and enhanced coping skills. CBT is the gold standard of evidence-based treatment for anxiety and depression.
-
Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic therapy is foundational to traditional talk therapy, and is focused on how your past impacts your present. It addresses all aspects of your mental health, including relationship satisfaction, self-esteem, life purpose and ways you might be self-sabotaging. Its goal is to help you access and uncover your unconscious patterns to help you change, grow and heal.
-
Spiritual Therapy
Spiritual Therapy, also known as Transpersonal Therapy, is a therapeutic approach that considers the spiritual aspects of being human when treating mental health symptoms and diagnoses. It integrates traditional talk therapy, existential exploration and metaphysical spiritual practices to help you supercharge your healing and growth.
-
Polyvagal Therapy
Polyvagal Therapy is a therapeutic approach that weaves together neuroscience and psychology to help you understand and regulate your nervous system. At the root of this work is understanding and working with the Vagus nerve to help you release stress and trauma that is stored in the body and nervous system, resulting in more freedom, peace and ease in your life, and in your relationships,

Online therapy is basically the same as regular therapy, except it happens online instead of in an office. Sessions are 50 minutes long and you can speak with your therapist over the phone or via our secure video conferencing platform (similar to zoom but with extra security!) Sessions are structured just like in-person therapy, where you engage with your therapist to address challenges, receive tailored tools for symptom relief - all securely and confidentially in a virtual setting.

Online therapy offers quality therapy just like in-person sessions, plus the perks of convenience and flexibility. You can join sessions from any private space with an internet connection, and save time commuting to our office. Some people find it easier to share and be vulnerable when in a familiar setting like your home or bedroom.
In-person therapy works best if you don’t have a private space to see your therapist, or you find it easier to connect in a physical office setting.
Sometimes it’s hard to know which one will work best for you. When you schedule a free consultation call, we’ll discuss the pros and cons of each and assess which one is best for you. Sometimes the only way to know if online therapy works for you is to give it a try.

Online therapy could be a great fit for you if:
You struggle to make it to a therapist's office in person due to time constraints.
You reside in a small town with limited therapist options or far-off locations.
You're covered for therapy back home under your parents' health insurance, but not where you currently live.
You prefer being in the comfort of your own home rather than an in-office setting
You struggle with anxiety or social phobia, making it difficult to leave your house for in-person therapy sessions.
You have mobility limitations and prefer to do therapy from home

When you begin therapy at The Holistic Counseling Center, rest assured, your therapist will guide you through the entire process. You can show up with an intention or a specific topic you would like to explore, or you can just show up and let your therapist guide the process.
A first session will include a review of our policies and procedures, your therapist asking you some questions to get to know you, and an exploration of your goals for therapy.
Every session will involve a review of the session's events, as well as the introduction of a tool or practice for immediate integration into your daily life. As part of the process, it's important to evaluate compatibility - not only with your therapist but also to ensure that online therapy suits you well. Don't hesitate to raise any questions you have about the process and engage in discussions with your therapist. Your therapist will evaluate compatibility and address any concerns during the discussion with you. If for some reason you or your therapist doesn’t feel like online therapy is a great fit, we'll offer alternative options and referrals to ensure you find the perfect match.

It’s especially helpful if you have a busy schedule, live in a remote location, or simply prefer the comfort of being in your own space. However, if you’re not comfortable with technology, have concerns about maintaining privacy in your environment, or feel that in-person interaction is crucial for your therapy experience, in-person sessions might be a better fit.
